How to Install a Mopar Chrome JK Replacement Grille

The first step in every installation is verifying you have everything to do the installation. Verify that all the nuts, bolts, and brackets are included, and gather the tools you will need. Most instructions tell what tools you will need. Don’t get worried if you get a lot of extra hardware, as most manufacturers include all the hardware for every application. You’ll just have to figure out which works for your specific application.

The installation of this Jeep grille was on a 2007 Jeep Wrangler JK. The exact steps for your application may vary slightly but the overall process will be the same for most jeep grilles.

Open the hood, locate, and remove 6 fasteners along the top edge of your factory grille. Remove the screw and pop the fastener out.

Gently pop one clip loose beneath each headlight as you lean the top of the grille forward.

Rotate the turn signal bulbs ¼ turn toward the floor to remove them from the housings.

Gently pop the remaining 4 clips across the bottom of the grille loose and remove the factory grille.

To remove the turn signal housings from the factory grille, squeeze two clips on the back of each and slide the housings out the front of the grille.

Install the turn signal housings in the new grille. The housings are right or left hand specific and are marked. Install the 6 new clips on the grille and the rubber strip across the top with the pre-applied adhesive.

Do everything again in reverse. Pop the 4 clips across the bottom of the grille back into the holders.

Put the turn signals bulbs back in the housings.

Pop the clips under each headlight back into the holders and the 6 fasteners across the top of the grille.

Close the hood, polish up your new Mopar chrome grille, and go show it off to your friends. Be sure to mention that you did it yourself and it only took about 45 minutes. Now you have that cool custom chrome look that everyone wants.
