Tailgate Damper

This tailgate damper is great to have with my 2012 Dodge Ram with a back up camera. I think there is less chance of its getting damage from opening the gate and it slamming down. I had it on my 03 Dodge Ram it also worked great. I recommend this product to anyone.

I love this tailgate assist. After installing it, I was like a kid opening and letting the tailgate slowly descend about 20 times. One sidenote - The torx driver tool that came with the kit is a bit flimsy. I installed this on a 2012 Ram 1500 Express and when I went to remove the tailgate cable bolt that sucker is on SNUG and I ended up ripping the torx tip off the tool. I went to my local autoparts store and got a torx size 45 socket. With the extra leverage of a ratchet it came right off.
