Built by Reese for Mopar, this receiver hitch for the 07-Up JK Wrangler is a custom designed hitch that bolts directly to the factory mounting points on the rear of the vehicle to provide a perfect fit as well as easy bolt-on installation. Each hitch is constructed of thick steel and E-coated with two layers of durable paint to provide a long-lasting, rust-free finish.
The one-piece, welded assembly is designed to provide strength as well as match the towing capacity of your Jeep. Compatible with all standard receiver hitch accessories, each hitch includes a cutout for mounting your factory wiring harness.
- Part # 82204119 has a 2000lb tow rating and a 200lb tongue rating for 6 cylinder models and a 1000lb tow and a 100lb tongue rating for 4 cylinder models. Includes ball mount and 1 7/8" hitch ball. 1 1/4" opening.
- Part # 82208867 has a 3500lb tow rating and a 350lb tongue rating with 2.0" opening. Includes 7-way wiring connector mount and receiver plug. Ball mount and hitch ball sold separately.
- Part # 82210230 has a 3500lb tow rating and a 350lb tongue rating with weight distributing equipment. Otherwise 2000lb tow rating and 200lb tongue rating. 2" opening. Hitch ball and ball mount sold separately.
The first step in every installation is verifying you have everything to do the installation. Verify that all the nuts, bolts, and brackets are included, and gather the tools you will need. Most instructions tell what tools you will need. Don’t get worried if you get a lot of extra hardware, as most manufacturers include all the hardware for every application. You’ll just have to figure out which works for your specific application.
This installation was on a 2007 Jeep Wrangler JK. The exact steps for your application may vary slightly but the overall process will be the same for most receiver hitches.
Place the hitch on the frame and line up the bolt holes.
Insert 4 bolts and tighten.
