Secures different than the orignal. orignal had zippers this one has a elastic rope that secures it to the other side of the tire. quality of material looks and feel good. Just hopeing no one steals it. a little hard to get it straight but after a few tries you can get it.

This spare tire cover is very good and looks great on my Jeep Liberty. As far as installing it, I had problems the first try. I couldn't get the back of the tire cover to pull far enough to the front of the tire and zipping it was really hard. I actually broke the zipper because I couldn't get the cover to meet close enough to zip it. After I repaired the zipper I gave it a second try. This time I pushed the hole in the tire cover that goes onto the bracket on as far as I could and stretched it without ripping the seams. This way I could pull the back of the tire cover more towards the middle of the tire so the zipper could meet. If you don't do this you will end up doing the same thing I did busting the zipper I guarantee it. After stretching the hole in the tire cover it was still a little tight zipping but not nearly as tight as it was before and I got it to zip all away around the tire. Before I only made it half way around the tire before the zipper busted. Take your time doing it and keep pulling the back towards the front and the front towards the back little by little to get the zipper close enough to zip. Other than that this is a great product. I hope this helps with the install.
