Hedman Hedders are designed for a perfect fit, and come packaged witht the required gaskets, bolts, nuts, connectors, and emissions components. These standard duty headers are manufactured using 18 gauge, mandrel bent primary tubes, and 1/4 flanges. Installing an exhaust header is one of the easiest ways to increase your vehicle's performance. Performance exhaust headers can increase horsepower and improve fuel economy while giving your vehicle a more powerful exhaust tone. Headers work by reducing exhaust backpressure so your engine doesn't have to waste energy trying to expel exhaust. With performance headers, each engine cylinder has its own individual exhaust outlet, leaving more power for better performance.

Hedman offers these uncoated headers for vehicle owners who wish to apply their own type of color coating. The black paint applied to them at the factory is merely to protect the bare metal from corrosion while in inventory and during shipping. This coating is not a high temperature paint and will burn off after only a few minutes of use on a warmed engine. Although and uncoated header can be used, it is recommended that the use of a thermal coating, or high temp paint be applied to protect them from the elements, and prolong their life.
