Most people have no problems installing the Road Rest; you'll see how easy it is when yours arrives. However, because it is impossible to manufacture an aftermarket accessory that will fit all of the different thicknesses of door panels, we offer the following suggestions for using the Road-Rest:
For narrow door panels, the enclosed piece of self-adhesive foam block can be used to change the angle of the Road Rest when it is used with a narrow door frame. Simply remove the protective backing of the adhesive strip and attach the foam block to the inside of the bottom of the Road Rest. This will help the Road Rest to stand off from the door panel and provide a resting surface that is as flat as possible.
For medium door panels (most Dodge vehicles): The Road Rest fits medium-thickness door panels without using the included foam block.
For wider door panels: The Road Rest will fit these door panels but may fall off the door panel when it's shut hard. Applying a piece of Velcro-type material to the door panel and the Road Rest will solve this.
Still not sure it will fit?: Please look at your door panel. If there is not a space for the lip to sit between the glass and the door panel, the Road Rest will not work in a normal way. However, many customers like the comfort provided by the Road Rest so well, they have used Velcro, super glue, and even screws in order to get the Road Rest to fit. The Road Rest is guaranteed against defects in workmanship for 90 days from the date of purchase by the manufacturer.
