Your smartphone can now do just about everything but drive your car. OnStar has expanded their mobile app technology to most of the new 2011 GM vehicle lineup. Now you can control the door locks, remote start function, horn and lights, and many more functions on your Chevrolet Silverado, all from the convenience of your phone. This app will also connect users to OnStar’s vehicle diagnostic information, which will give the driver information about fuel tank level and range, remaining oil life, current and recommended tire pressure, and lifetime average miles per gallon. This information is as current as the last vehicle start, so you know that you can depend on its accuracy at anytime. Odometer readings, VIN numbers, OnStar account numbers, and a one-touch dial to OnStar itself will also be available within the app. Because GM knows that the drivers of different vehicles have different tastes, the apps for each vehicle will be individually designed specifically for that vehicle. This is just another way GM is leading the way in automotive innovation.
