Mopar to Provide Truck Conversion Kit for Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Posted By: Parke on 05/24/2011

Once again Mopar taunts us with a Jeep truck. Only this time you can make it yours.

Jeep Wrangler JK-8 Independence

The Jeep Wrangler JK-8 Independence debuted at the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, UT. Taking cues from the popular Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler, the JK-8 features a fully enclosed cab and truck bed. Built off of a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited platform, Mopar took side and floor body panels from the export-only military J8 combined with a new hard top and bulkhead to create a Jeep pickup.

The JK-8 Independence is upgraded with aftermarket suspension, axles, wheels, tires, and more, but the basic truck conversion kit will soon be available at your local Mopar dealer. Available in two packages, the JK-8 conversion kit will be available as a complete bolt-on upgrade that can easily be completed by an average gear head or a full kit that requires welding but provides a more finished look. Expected to be available the first part of July, each kit comes complete with all body panels, brackets, and hardware to fully convert you Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to a pickup.
