Introduced in 1972, the KC HiLites Daylighters are perhaps the most recognized and asked for name in off-road lighting. The Daylighter not only uses a heavy-duty rubber gasket bulb holder that isolates the lens, reflector, and bulb from the housing and elements of weather, but it also includes KC's patented shock mounting system.

The KC HiLites shock mounting system was developed as a way to isolate the lamp unit from the mounting bracket or surface to which the light is mounted. This system successfully reduces lamp failure due to vibration and has been proven through the extremes of off-road racing. This proven system has now been updated from the original to require no extra drilling for installation.

KC HiLites fog lights project a beam pattern which is very wide, but only a couple of feet high. This pattern lights the pathway close to the ground, but does not light the airborne particles in the driver's line of sight. Fog lights are also a very helpful addition to headlights in clear weather conditions by providing added lighting immediately in front of the vehicle as well as increased side or cornering light.
